Just a quick list of the books I’ve read this year and loved! All links will redirect to Amazon.
My favorites in no certain order:
1. The Saturday Night Supper Club How can you go wrong when this book contains vivid details of gourmet food and the most mature romance I’ve ever read? This was a winner and made me an instant fan of Carla Laureano.
2. The Heart Between Us The tale of two sisters who are at odds but unite when one wants to fulfill a travel bucket list. As someone who loves travel, I loved the journey these two sisters took to find what truly mattered in life.
3. An Awakened Heart This novella contained my most favorite kiss ever! It’s the prequel to Jody’s Orphan Train series and oh my! My heart ached for the kids in this book.
4. The Secret Life of Sarah Hollenbeck Bethany Turner’s debut novel made me a fan. This is a fun rom-com that had a swoon-worthy hero. And I hear the hero in her next book is going to be even more romantic!
5. Falling for You It’s no secret that I’m a Becky Wade fan. I loved that she paired a model with a former football hero and sent them on a quest to find a missing person. And the fact that the hero and heroine used to date makes for some fun tension!
6. All We Ever Wanted My sister first introduced me to Emily Giffin. This was my second book to read of hers and while the first book I read of hers was lighter in nature, this one, wow. She tackles a tough topic that made for a compelling read.
7. Shelter of the Most High I really didn’t know what Biblical fiction was until I started reading Conni’s books. And oh my! Her beautiful writing made me an instant fan and made me want to read the Bible more. She excels at research and everything she writes reflects that aspect.
8. The Truth Between Us I became a Tammy Gray fan the first time I read A Shattered Rose. I even had the opportunity to meet her and fan girl over her! So when the second book in her Bentwood series released I had to fan girl her again. Love, love, love!
9. The Convenient Groom I haven’t read much of Denise Hunter’s books even though I’ve heard great things about them. So when her Nantucket series popped up on sale I’m so glad I snagged it. Because the second book in the series was my favorite! So funny!! What happens when two opposites get married for the sake of saving one’s career? Hilarious and I can absolutely see why Hallmark made this into a movie.
10. You’d Be Mine Not slated to release until 2019, I had the privilege of reading an early copy. Erin Hahn’s debut novel made me an instant fan. Her writing style reminded me of Charles Martin because of the literary feel. This was a clean romance that followed two country music singers as they navigated loss and attraction.
11. Long Way Gone At the 2017 ACFW conference I walked into the ballroom and each of the chairs had a free book. Charles Martin’s book was in the chair next to mine and I patiently waited hoping no one would snatch the chair or the book because the cover had drawn me in even though I had never heard of the author. When I was sure the book was mine I gave it a safe place on my bookshelf at home. I didn’t turn the pages of this book until 2018 and I just wish I had known Kleenex would be required when I finally decided to read it. This was fantastic!

I also read The Saturday Night Supper Club and loved it. I won an ARC of Brunch at Bittersweet Cafe from Carla and am in the middle of it now😁
