Falling for You
(A Bradford Sisters Romance #2)
By Becky Wade
Inspirational Contemporary Romance
Paperback & ebook, 368 pages
May 1st 2018 by Bethany House Publishers

Famously beautiful model Willow Bradford is taking a temporary break from her hectic schedule to work as the innkeeper at her family’s small-town bed-and-breakfast. She was enjoying the peace of her hometown, Merryweather, Washington, right up until she came face-to-face with Corbin Stewart, the man she loves to hate. A thoughtful rule-follower by nature, Willow threw caution to the wind four years ago when she entrusted her heart to Corbin–and suffered the consequences when it all fell apart.

Former NFL quarterback Corbin is forceful, charming, and accustomed to getting what he wants . . . except where Willow Bradford is concerned. Unable to forget her, he’s never stopped regretting what happened between them. When their paths unexpectedly cross again, he’s determined to make her give him a second chance.

When a decades-old missing persons case finds Corbin and Willow working together, they’re forced to confront their past and who they’ve become–and whether they can risk falling for one another all over again.

Review: It’s not often that a book makes me reach for Kleenex but this one did. But I won’t give any spoilers as to why!

First, let’s start out with some quotes from our hero and heroine. I marked these because they capture the essence of the relationship between them that is constantly at odds. Plus, one of the lines displays the beauty of Wade’s writing.

“He studied her. ‘Four years have passed, and you still hate me,’ he said.” – Corbin

“But like the pea in the Princess and the Pea fairy tale, Corbin continued to bother her. He wouldn’t go away. He wouldn’t let her relax. The mattresses upon mattresses she’d stacked between her heart and his memory weren’t doing the trick.” – Willow

From the beginning of the book Corbin and Willow were always butting heads (there’s just no nice way to say it), making you wonder how they could ever reconcile. But as the two spent more time together, their past relationship was slowly unveiled igniting sympathy towards both of them. Some hard issues were discussed in regards to their relationship and Wade did a fabulous job of weaving the descriptions throughout and heightening the emotional pull you felt towards Corbin and Willow.

My two favorite scenes in the book (no spoilers here!) were when Corbin and Willow “have it out” in the entryway of her home. I could just feel the agony of both during that scene! Heart pounding! The second favorite scene happened during a talk Corbin had with his dad. Oh man! I got teary-eyed during that one. Wade definitely knows how to build a scene and escalate the emotions to where you, as a reader, are sucked in and feel like you’re observing the characters first-hand.

The theme of reconciliation is woven throughout the story line giving us all a reminder that we should reconcile with those we love. After all, it’s what Jesus did for us.

Whew! What a fantastic book! You won’t be disappointed. And since you want to read it now you can click on one of the links below to purchase!

Oh, hay! (See what I did there? 😉) Last year Oh, hay! (See what I did there? 😉)

Last year I felt a nudge from God to delve into a particular story idea. So I went to “see a man about a horse.” Actually several people!

I’m happy to announce that the story idea has been submitted to Love Inspired in a contest and earned me the chance to send the whole story to them by August.

Here’s to hoping my fingers will fly as fast as this horse.

I experienced my first ever reading slump (due to I experienced my first ever reading slump (due to grief) at the beginning of the year. After two DNFs, I hopped out of my normal reading genre and read a light mystery and these two historical romances. What a breath of fresh air! Karen and Jody’s books were audiobooks for me with great narrators.

And the romance threads didn’t disappoint! One is a marriage of convenience and the other was a heroine and her protector. I highly recommend!

Hi, it’s me, Kelly Scott, a sweet romance writer. I’ve written six stories, all represented by the different colored binders. They are all unpublished, but I’m hoping to change that.

I live in the Dallas area with my husband and two boys. By day I work as an accountant doing math things and writing and baking are my creative outlets. Along with pretend gardening.

I have first hand knowledge of grief, hot flashes, and raising a teen.

Thanks for stopping by! 💕

My dad was a runner. Nothing elite just his chosen My dad was a runner. Nothing elite just his chosen form of exercise. He inspired me to try it out and - ooof - running isn’t easy. It requires perseverance. When I had the chance to run a 5k with my dad, I did. He ran faster than me and during the race he double backed so he could keep pace with me. “Come on, let’s go,” he said. So I pushed forward and finished.

His running prepared him for the perseverance to fight Alzheimer’s. While diagnosed several years ago, our family joined him in this race. We held his hand and encouraged him to keep going. There were days when I wanted to quit, but his smile reassured me that he was okay and to press on.

At the end, he ran hard to Jesus, persevering. Now he’s running on streets of gold, free from the disease.

He loved us all so well and there were no regrets. Nothing left unsaid. He taught me to love and to laugh and those same traits I’m carrying forward.

Thank you, Dad, for a beautiful life.
